They’re here! The first big tournaments of the season start today: the Lancaster Archery Classic in Lancaster, PA and the European Tournament of Archery in Nimes, France. There are big names to be found at both venues and some great shooting should be had. Check back here for updates on scores, winners and other information as the tournaments unfold.

All of the qualifying scores have been posted, and there is one very notable one. Hunter Davis, who is apparently only 14 years old, posted a 655 (0ut of 660) and is third only to Chris Oosterlinck and Reo Wilde. Tomorrow will consist of elimination rounds to determine the winners.

It came down to two men from the USA, and Jesse Broadwater edged out Braden Gellenthien by one point, 119 too 118 for the gold.

For the women Chrystelle Garitat (FRA) started the day in 27th place but took all challengers and made a run all the way to gold.

Recurve
The top two places for men’s recurve shooters for the tournament were owned by Italians with American Brady Ellison dropping to bronze.

France took two of the top spots in women’s recurve with top shooter for the previous days Berengere Schuh holding on for the gold.

The day two shooting is over and the men are very tight for the top spots. Braden Gellenthien was in first place after day one, but day two brought Jesse Broadwater to the shooting line and he bumps Braden down by one point.
